ANY help to solve this, using SMB (I don't want to use AFP) would be appreciated! ![]() They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. When I "Back up now" in Time Machine, it looks for the drive, sees it, and when it tries to connect I get "The network backup disk could not be accessed because there was a problem with the network username or password." I have deleted the keychain entry for this, and re added the password and such, and still get the same result. I CAN connect to the DS414 with SMB: with the user I created, and link to the drive in Time Machine. I turned OFF AFP and set up SMB correctly, for all the needed settings. I used the Synology tutorial for setting up a shared folder and user with the correct privileges on the DS414. I'm already losing hair, and pulling it out isn't helping. ![]() Hello! I have spent days, with fruitless Goole searching, and so many different "fixes" and I can't work this out. ![]()
